Music over the years

When we used to be in college 8+ years back, when they kicked us off the computer centres, we used to relax in the D hostel common room and listen to music till wee hours of the morning. Good music in the background, while chatting up on inane random stuff, passionately arguing about something or just plain ragging each other.

It usually used to be Surya music - though there were other contenders too.
Over the years, given my propensity to work quite late into the night, I continued with the practise of listening to music when working late.

I recently observed that, though the actual kind of songs I listened to did not change much (usually old malayalam songs : rock music tends to get me too involved with the music ... becomes counterproductive), the channels where I listen to them has. And none of the english music channels are worth the effort to turn to ... absolute zilch gets broadcasted.

Sometimes, very rarely ofcourse, I wish some aspects of my college life had persisted with me ... ofcourse, vast majority of it : I did enjoy parts of, but would not want to repeat it ever again !

This post has lost focus ... posting it anyway : spam the internet !

actually i think the full quote captures it better, so here I go:

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way - in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only."
